Canine Couture

This week, I wanted to dedicate a blog post to our beloved pup Marcy, who passed away last week and talk about the colliding of two of my favourite things, fashion and dogs. I’ve featured dogs a few times before on The Style Transplant including my two much missed pups,Derby and Marcy, including a post about why everyone should have a dog at least once in their life. For this post, my new puppy friend, Freddie and I have joined forces to bring you one of the cutest photoshoots I’ve done. (Go check out his Instagram now for all the fashionable dog content.) Have a read below about some of my favourite times these two seemingly separate worlds have collided and how you can get your own dog fix if you don’t have one to call your own.

How to Find the Perfect Swimwear

Hope you’re all having a much more exciting weekend than me. I’m unfortunately stuck in quarantine after returning to the UK. Also I apologize for the lack of blogposts over the past couple weekends, but I decided to take a little break while I was back in the USA visiting friends and family. I did have a wonderful time back home, celebrating my longtime friend, Haven’s wedding, taking photos and making reels with my bestie, Joud, and relaxing with my family poolside. What have you been up to over the past couple weeks? Leave me your updates below.

For this week’s comeback blog post I wanted to talk about finding the perfect swimwear for your body type. I don’t know how I’ve never covered this before, but since we’re now allowed to travel a bit more and summer is upon us, I thought it was only appropriate to cover the topic. Of course any body can wear any suit, but below you’ll find my favourite swimwear styles along with what body part they’ll help you accentuate and flatter the most.

1 Blazer 5 Ways

Hope you’re all having a lovely long weekend if you’re here in the UK. We have a bank holiday on Monday so it’s an extra long weekend. I’ve finally got to go up to Derbyshire after a year and a half and visit my family. So lovely eating home cooked meals, catching up on the last year and spending time with some of my favourite people. Can’t wait until my mum and dad are back here in the same area as well.
For this week’s blog post, I wanted to style one of my favourite items, the blazer, five different ways. This one in particular is from NA-KD and I’m obsessed! I thought this might help you think of different ways to style your own blazers too. They don’t always have to make an appearance for the office. If you’re looking for a a new one, definitely check out NA-KD.com!

Cottagecore Chic

Anyway, for today’s blog post, I wanted to talk about a new trend sweeping the fashion and social media worlds that you might have heard of, Cottagecore. Cottagecore, which originally cropped up in 2018 on Tumblr is now making a comeback thanks to TikTok. It is the idealization of all things rural, countryside related, and peacefulness. This applies to fashion as well! One might use words like pastoral, cozy, tranquil, simple, wholesome, vintage, natural, and nostalgia when describing Cottagecore. Having survived the last year and a half of the pandemic, I think we’ve all realized how important nature and mindfulness really is, which is why Cottagecore ideals seam to be soaring. Below are three categories where you can incorporate some Cottagecore values into your own life.

Sweater Vests for Spring

Hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday. Leave a comment below what you’ve been up to. Friday night was my belated birthday dinner with the girls from work. We had an amazing tapas meal, but were unfortunately freezing outside. Luckily indoor dining starts tomorrow here in the UK. Saturday I got brunch with a friend in Kensington and today I went to Colombia Road Flower Market to check out this season’s best blooms with my friend, Kardelen. Feeling lucky to have life going back to a bit of normality here in the UK.
Today, I wanted to talk about one of this season’s unexpected rising trend stars, the sweater vest. When hearing the words “sweater vest” your brain might immediately jump to the likes of Chandler Bing from Friends or some other cliché nerdy character from the 90s, but this season, they have become a must-have piece. Style icons like Harry Styles and Bella Hadid have even been rocking them and contributing to their popularity, so for this week’s blog post I thought I’d talk about how to style them.

Tailored to Perfection

Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. I’ve had a very busy weekend celebrating my 26th birthday with friends and family, after a very stressful week. Unfortunately, last week both my card was cancelled due to fraudulently activity and my phone was stolen, so I needed this weekend for sure! We spent the weekend eating delish food around London and doing a bit of shopping of course.

For this week’s blog post I wanted to talk about the importance of tailoring and why you need to find a tailor you can depend on. I’ve recently switched tailors and I’m so pleased with the service and price, I had to share! If you live in the Hackney/Victoria Park area in London, you definitely need to try JCD Dry Cleaners in Victoria Park Village.

Why Everyone Needs a Pair of Wide-Leg Jeans

We’re mixing it up and posting on a Wednesday this week because I posted a fun Carrie Bradshaw outfits inspired reel/TikTok of Sunday instead (trying to go viral as the kids say so go give it a watch if you haven’t already). Let me know what day you would be most likely to read my blog posts below. But anyway, what have you been up to this past weekend? I made some fun reels, went for an exciting countryside shoot to the cute little town of Arundel with my friend Lucy (photos coming soon of course), and stumbled upon some gorgeous blooms in Greenwich Park with my friend Martina. Overall it was very exciting and picturesque weekend. Feeling grateful to be living in such a gorgeous and exciting city, especially now that things are opening back up.

I honestly can’t stop wearing them and I think I have them in just about every classic colour, from dark denim to white.
