Back to Black

I hope you're all doing well on this dreary January morning.  Has this not been the longest month ever?  It feels like it will never end, and I don't know about you, but we've been having some not-so-lovely weather! Instead of crisp, frosty mornings, we've been having soggy grey ones.

Because of the less than cheerful weather and this never-ending month after the holiday season, I know many of you, like me, is getting a bit bored or feeling uninspired when it comes to your wardrobe.  You've probably even resulted to wearing black everyday, which, while easy, can also be quite unexciting.  Not to fear though, I'm challenging you to reinvent the way we all wear black.

(My friend from high school, Miranda Meyers took these amazing shots for me, and they're honestly some of my favorites to date. We had so much fun creating these photos and chatting all afternoon! I've been wanting to work with her for ages now. Head over to her blog and instagram and give her amazing work some love.)

How to Discover New Brands

One of the ruts that we often fall into is simply buying from the same, well-known brands over and over and over again.  I can't say much myself, because they're convenient, always stocked, and have some pretty great prices, but they can begin to overtake our wardrobes.  Whether your go-to is Zara, Target, Forever21, Topshop, or Old Navy, we start to look like a walking advertisement for that brand rather than creating our own unique blend of brands that define our personal style.  If you want to have a wardrobe that is more original and not exactly the same as the next girl, you have to put a little work and research into finding new and exciting brands!

Below are just a few of the habits you can get into that might help you find some one-of-a-kind pieces that deserve to be in your closet!
