Back to Basics

Hope you’ve been having a good Easter and bank holiday weekend if you’re here in the UK. Hope you’ve been spending time with your fam and eating lots of Easter treats. Anyway, on to this week’s blog post.

While building an amazing wardrobe, or at least what I consider to be amazing lol, I’ve been learning and growing along with it. I think of my wardrobe as a fluid, ever-changing thing. Pieces are always coming in and going out of my life and I try my best to keep it all rather balanced, but sometimes even my closet falls off kilter.

Put It In Neutral

This year one of my fashion goals has been to challenge myself to make neutrals exciting again. They’ve been all over the runways and street-style stars recently, and I want to try it out myself. While I’ve become inclined to grab a punchy pink sweater rather than a subtle camel one, I want to make myself a bit more comfortable with the classic tones again. I think it’s important to have that balance of color and neutral in my wardrobe and know how to navigate both seamlessly.

Little Life Update from Shoreditch

Have you all had a good week? Comment down below one good thing and one not-so-good thing that happened this week. My good thing is that I’ve really been enjoying this week is spending time with my friends! Thursday night I went out for cheese fondue with them and then went to go and see Mary Queen of Scots, which was amazing by the way!

not-so-good thing is that we’re still on the hunt for the right apartment in London, which seems like an impossible task. It’s exhausting, but I still have faith we’re going to to find the one for us!

Are you all getting in the holiday spirit? I’ve finally started wrapping some gifts, and I have to say, buying people gifts is one of the most joyous things about this time of year. I think it makes me so happy because gift giving is really how I show someone how much I care about them.

For this particular blog post, I want to rewind to a couple weekends ago when Fergus and I were in Milan! Although we were only there for a very brief visit, I feel like we squeezed in a lot, and I have to share it with all my favorite people (aka you!). Stepping Out of My Style Comfort Zone in Milan

Fergus and I have just returned from Milan! We had an amazing little trip, exploring the city and visiting my Italian pals. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick city break! For this week’s post, I wanted to try to challenge myself and my typical style in Milan! Often, I find myself getting into a fashion rut and just wearing a similar combination of clothing over and over, so every now and then, I think I’ve got to break out of the routine.

A piece of clothing a usually shy away from is the midi skirt. I’ve long admired the midi skirts and dresses on the likes of my taller friends, celebs, and models, but I’ve always felt that I was too short too pull one off. Since I’m always preaching that anyone can wear anything though, I thought I should test myself to do the same!

Corduroy's Big Comeback

For this week’s post, I wanted to talk about one of this season’s biggest trends, corduroy! While it comes around every fall/winter season, it seems to be making an even bigger comeback this year and in some new and interesting ways! I’ve seen corduroy in more colors, styles, and shapes than I’ve ever imagined and I’m kind of loving it! I don’t have a love of corduroy pieces yet myself, but the few bits I do have, like this dress from Zara, are keeping me warm and stylish! I’ve come up with a few tips for rocking corduroy your own way!

My First Fashion Week

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend, but I HAVE to tell you about this past weekend!! Last weekend was honestly the BEST. WEEKEND. OF. MY. LIFE. If you didn’t already know, last weekend was London Fashion Week and I was lucky enough to be right in the thick of it with the company I’m interning with, HPR London. I can’t even explain to you the excitement I felt, but I’m going to try in this post! After reading, if you have questions about my first real fashion week experience, don’t hesitate to put it down below, because there’s no way I can cover everything just in this little post. (Also I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to upload last weekend, but I think fashion week is a pretty good excuse!)

The Print of the Season

Anyway, this week, I wanted to talk about the print of the season! If you've been paying a lick of attention to this upcoming season's trends or even just checking out what's new in the shops, you'll have noticed cheetah or leopard print EVERYWHERE (much to my mom's bestie, Mrs. Cindy's, joy)! Cheetah print is obviously a timeless print that will be around long after other quirky prints, but it seems to be making an ever bigger resurgence this autumn than ever before!

Since it's a pattern I feel quite comfortable rocking, I've decided to kind of rethink the way I typically wear it and be a bit more creative with it, whether that's wearing it with unexpected colors, wear a lot more of it at once, or even mixing different patterns with it!

My Interview Tips

I hope you're all doing well! I've just made it to London, but I wrote this ahead of time so fingers crossed the journey went well! Eeeek! Anyway, I'm so glad you've joined me again here on the blog. You're the best, you know! This week, since I recently nailed a very dreamy internship, I wanted to talk about some tips and tricks, you know how I love my tips, on how to nail the job, internship, college program, etc. of your dreams! I've spent over a year and a half finding and getting this internship, and I've interviewed with my share of companies since I was about fifteen, so I think I've learned a suitcaseful!
