My Work From Home Tips
Happy Sunday lovelies,
Hope you’re all well and having a nice, relaxing Sunday evening. What have you been up to this week? I’ve been enjoying the sunnier weather, eating lots of yummy food (as per the usual), and spending time with my favorite people.
Now I know the last thing you want to think about on a Sunday evening is work, but hear me out. These tips for a more successful wfh (work from home) experience might just help you have a better week! This past year has meant wfh has become the new normal, but for some of us it’s been a difficult and strange transition. I’ve come up with my tips for having a more productive day working from the comforts of your own abode. Check them out below and leave your own tips down in the comments too.
Get Dressed
Getting up and getting dressed is half the battle when it comes to working from home. While it may seem easier to just roll out of bed and work in your pajamas or sweats all day, I recommend getting showered and dressed as it helps wake up your mind and put it in “working mode.” Studies show that wearing certain outfits and colours can make you more productive and focused.
Create a schedule
Sticking to a schedule also helps me get more done when I’m working from home. Let’s be honest, it feels great to cross items off your list. Set goals for certain times of the day and aim to reach them. Also set yourself times to get up and walk around, drink water, and eat. This will help you remain focused throughout the day and keep you from making unnecessary trips to the fridge too!
Get Moving
Working from home, we’re skipping our morning commute. While some of you might be glad about that, your body and mind are missing the exercise. Try to find a time to go for a walk, exercise, or do some yoga before work or on your lunch break. This will help keep your mind and body on track throughout the day.
Bask in the Sun
Staying inside all day means we’re getting even less sunshine than we do normally this time of year. I recommend moving your desk to be near a window, taking vitamin D supplements, and taking yourself outside whenever you can. Sunlight has a massive impact on my mood, so I soak up as much as possible wherever I can.
Thank you for reading this week’s blog post! Hopefully one or more of these tips can help you have a more productive week if you’re still working from home.
