Colour Forecast 2021
Hello lovelies,
I hope you’ve all had a productive week and a fun weekend. As usual, comment down below what you’ve been up to. This weekend I walked in the park with friends of course, visited Borough Market, and had a fun girls’ game night. Tonight we’re thinking of making a mini Sunday roast, which I’m thoroughly looking forward to.
This week, following on from last week’s spring trends to look out for, I wanted to talk about the colours you need to be rocking this spring/summer, as I usually do this time of year. (Check out last year’s colour forecast, here.) Some of them you probably already own, so it’s just a matter of digging through your wardrobe to find them. According to Zeitgeist, Pantone, and other fashion sources, these were the main colours that flooded SS21 catwalks. This bright collection of colours are just what we need after 2020.
Sky Blue
The colour of serenity…after a very anxious year last year, we should all be swathing ourselves in this peaceful shade (as I did for this outfit). This colour suits just about everyone. Whatever your skin tone or hair colour, you’re bound to look good in this hue, but especially if you have blue eyes. You probably have a jacket, jeans, or a denim skirt in this shade, so throw it on for the perfect spring look.
Mint Green
The colour of a fresh start…another soothing and cooling tone that suits most skin tones. Mix with blue tones for the ultimate cool spring outfit. I’m partial to green myself, but I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Luckily, this particular shade of green is easier to wear than most.
Cherry Red
The colour of power…this punchy shade is perfect for adding a pop to any outfit, I chose to wear this colour on my lips for this look. This colour will make any outfit feel incredibly powerful and strong. Wear it to your next job interview for a boost of confidence. This colour suits most skin tones in small bursts, but especially those with warmer undertones.
Hot Pink
The colour of fun…this colour is sure to boost your mood and make you feel ready for anything the spring/summer season holds. This colour suits those with cooler undertones especially and all hair colours really, but anyone can wear this hue.
Marigold Yellow
The colour of optimism…something we all need a little of after the year we’ve all been through. This colour especially suits those lucky ones of you with darker skin tones and hair colours. It’s a bit harder for blondes or those with cooler undertones to pull off, unfortunately. Brown eyed babes will look amazing in this colour.
Thank you for reading this week’s blog post. Which of these shades do you think you’ll be wearing the most? Comment down below. A special shout out goes to Amanda for taking these gorg shots.
