How to Make Denim Shorts Sophisticated
Happy Sunday lovelies,
Hope you’ve all had a fab weekend. Leave a comment down below with what you’ve been up to. Yesterday, I took myself on a solo day trip to Brighton, and I actually found it so relaxing and nice to enjoy my own company on the beach.I read my book and listened to the sound the waves. A but later on, I got a lovely lunch at Oeuf and met up with the gorgeous Daena for a quick chat. Today I’ve caught up with my other friend, Jade, over a delish avo of toast. The weather in the UK has finally turned around so I’ve been trying to enjoy it as much as possible. Have you been enjoying summer where you are?
For this week’s blog post I wanted to share how I’ve been styling my shorts and making them a bit more sophisticated. I was gifted this lovely blouse from Lagommy and thought it would be the perfect compliment to my shorts. Shop it here. Keep reading below to see what I suggest you style your shorts with next.
Long sleeves
As I’ve mentioned in plenty of previous blog posts before, I recommend styling using opposites to your advantage. For example if you wear something tight on top, wear something looser on the bottom or in this case, if you wear something short on the bottom, wear long sleeve on top, like I did with this Lagommy blouse.
tall boots
Pairing your shorts with long boots is another great way to make them look more refined. You’re showing just a little sliver of skin and therefore look a bit more put together than if you wore sandals, trainers, or lower rise shoes.
blazers
As you guys know, I throw a blazer on top of nearly every outfit and jean shorts are no exception. A blazer can make just about anything look more put together, so I definitely recommend trying it with all your shorts, mini skirts, and mini dresses.
High End Fabrics
As denim quite a casual fabric, I recommend pairing it with a contrasting fabrics. For this outfit, I paired mine with this silk blouse and it brings the whole outfit up a level. Think of fabrics like silk, linen, leather, tulle, cashmere, etc. as your best friend when styling denim.
Thank you for reading this week’s blog post. I hope this post has helped you style your shorts in a bit more chic way. Leave a comment down below with how you plan to style your shorts next.
