Written in the Scarves: How to Style Your Favourite Vintage Scarf
Happy Monday guys,
Hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend. I had a very productive weekend of shooting content, going to puppy yoga, and of course watching the England vs. Italy game, hence the late post. I didn't think many England based readers would have been online yesterday. Anyway, puppy yoga was one of the best experiences ever and I definitely recommend if you’re in the London area. While the football game had a disappointing ending, I’m so proud of our team and getting to the EURO finals was such an exciting ride. What did you get up to this weekend? Leave a comment down below so I can plan my next weekend with your suggestions.
As mentioned in my blog post about this summer’s must have accessories, scarves are huge this season, so I wanted to give you guys a few ideas on how to style them. Read below and then let me know which style is your favourite! If you haven’t already, definitely add one to your wardrobe from my favourites below or maybe raid your grandma’s closet for a one-of-a-kind vintage version!
Triangle Top
For this blog post, I used my ‘new’ vintage scarf from Solo Vintage. To wear your scarf like this, all you have to do is fold your scarf into a triangle and then tie in the back. Obviously, you just need your scarf to be big enough, but other than that it’s super simple and easy!
Headscarf & Headband
I’ve styled scarves in a couple ways on my head, for example in this post and this one. You can tie your scarf behind your head or underneath your hair for two different looks.
Bag Accessory
A super easy and effective way to elevate your outfit is by tying a scarf to your handbag. This adds another element to the outfit without having to this too much. Use this method to add a pop of colour or pattern to a simple look.
Bikini Cover-Up
Heading to the beach and want to take your swimwear to the next level? Tie your favourite scarf around your waist in one corner for a cute and simple sarong. This is a great use of pieces you already have in your wardrobe instead of going out and buying a new sarong.
Necktie
As a fan of flight attendant chic, I think tying a scarf around your neck is a great way to add extra interest to an otherwise simple look. It’s the perfect Parisian touch for any outfit. For this look, fold your scarf into a long rectangle and then tie in the front.
Thank you for reading this week’s blog post. I hope you’ve got a few more ideas on how to style your favourite scarf now. Leave a comment with which way you’ll be styling your scarves this summer. Shop some of my favourite scarves below, but also remember to check out your local/online vintage shop for unique pieces.
