My Bargain Buy of the Year
Hello friends,
Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday evening. It’s a windy one here in London, so I’ve been listening to the house creak and whine, as I write this little blog post. (Apparently, it’s supposed to be so windy today that a lot of the parks here are closed!) I’ve had a fairly low-key weekend this time, as I’m going to Paris for a couple days with my friend, Jade, tomorrow! (I’m so excited to eat pastries and go to the Lourve, as I didn’t get to go there last time I visited the city.) On Friday, I went to go and see a new gallery exhibit in Greenwich with my friend, Vincenza. It was a very colourful and inspiring installation by Emmanuelle Moureaux. Yesterday, I just had a relaxing walk around Shoreditch and tried a Wheelcake for the first time! It was like a pancake filled with melty chocolate and custard! Today, Jade, and I are going to try and brave the wind and rain for a bit. We’ll see how long we can last in the miserable weather.
For this week’s blog post, I wanted to talk about an amazing bargain that I landed in the January sales here in London. I was utterly thrilled when I stumbled upon these killer boots in Topshop on Oxford Street. If you’ve been to London, you’ll know that this is the mother of all Topshops, with its own cafe, salon, and tattoo parlor. (I may or may not frequent it often to check out new collections and get a bit of inspiration.) Anyway, I’ve been on the hunt for some knee-high western boots and as I was browsing the rows and rows of shoes, these came into view. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the price tag that said “Originally: £139, Now: £39.” I’ve actually been on the hunt for boots like this for a few months now, and hadn’t had any luck. I never thought I’d find them for such a discounted price and in my size! It really was meant to be.
For their first trip out, I decided to style them with this vintage shirt dress that I got when I was visiting my cousin, Alex, in Nottingham. It’s a tad short, but the boots are quite tall and as long as the wind doesn’t blow too much, I’m usually able to avoid a Marilyn Monroe moment. Dark green has been my favorite color for a while now, if you haven’t noticed, so I can’t let this beauty go to waste. I wanted to contrast the green and cream with a bit of brown and black, so that was my focus for the coat and accessories.
I thought they would make the perfect boot for both summer and winter, since they’re cream. I can’t wait until I can style them with a floaty floral dress or a denim mini-skirt in the warmer weather.

I know some of you might have found some absolute bargains in the sales recently too, so be sure to comment your find down below. The great news is, these boots are still on sale! I’ve linked them down below along with other similar pieces of my outfit if you’re interested! A special shout out goes to my pal, Jade, for taking these photos for me. We took these in Greenwich, which I’m falling a little more in love with every-time I visit that part of London. Thanks so much for reading this week’s blog post. Remember to check back next week for a new one and keep an eye out for some Paris themed posts from our mini trip.
