Hello friends,

How have your weekends been? I’ve had a busy one, as London Fashion Week is upon us again! I’ve been dodging the rain and running from show to show, but loving every minute. Comment what you’re been up to below! For this week’s blog post we’re looking back to the beginning of the week when I was lucky enough to be in Paris with my friend, Jade!
After traveling to the city of love twice, I thought it was only right that I do one of my mini guides for this city as well. Probably the easiest country to travel to, from London, France, our main-land neighbor, hosts the world famous city of Paris. You’ve all heard about it and a lot of you might have already been, but I’ve compiled my must-dos and must-sees of this magical place.

Art & Book Shop Along the SEine

If you’re looking to pick up some new art for your home or a vintage read, this is the place to go. There are stalls along the river, across from Notre Notre Dame, littered with all kinds of hand painted pieces, unique postcards, framed pages from old books, and vintage VOGUE covers. Apparently this tradition started in the 16th century! My tip: Check the weather. These stalls are sometimes closed when the weather isn’t good.

Eat All the Food

Baguettes, croissants, croquet Monsieur, beef bourguignon, chicken cordon Bleu, onion soup, crepes….let’s just say, there’s a long list of must-eats in Paris. Don’t over spend on food. Even the mid-tier bistros and little cafes have amazing food! My tip: Parisians eat at different times so check restaurants are open online before going all the way there! Many place don’t open until 12pm and some close for a short time again until 7:30pm.

Museum Hop

It’s no secret that Paris is known for its art history, and therefore, the Parisians take pride in their art collections. From the Mona Lisa to Monet’s Waterlilies, there is a piece for everyone. I recommend going to the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay to see the best bits. My tip: Because the museums are so big, I do recommend making a plan first of the things you really want to see. It would take weeks to see it all. Also buy your tickets beforehand just in case they sell out.

Climb the Eiffel Tower

Now I know you may be thinking, why would you climb 674 steps when there’s an elevator, but hear me out. How cool is it to say you’ve actually “climbed up the Eiffel Tower”?! Spend a bit of time around the area too and be sure to get a photo with the famous structure. My tip: Research the best place to get a photo with the Eiffel Tower. I’m currently writing a blog post about the best spots for you!

Enjoy the Slower Pace of Life in Montmartre

Climbing up the many steps to Monmatre’s peak is definitely worth the work. Once at the top, visit the Sacré Cœr, get your portrait drawn by a local artist, and stumble into a cozy cafe for an onion soup or beef bourguignon; chocolatey crepes for afters. My Tip: Wear your comfy shoes for sure!

General Tips:

  • Buy a booklet of 10 Métro tickets to share with someone rather than buying individual tickets. You’ll save time and money.

  • Beware of pick pockets! Last time I was in Paris, I was mugged by a group of children…seriously! They had clipboards and were pretending to try and get signatures. Meanwhile, they were opening my bag and taking my phone! (Luckily I got it back thanks to a kind onlooker.)

Thanks so much for reading my little mini guide. Have you been to Paris before, and if so, what was your favorite thing you did while you were there? I always love to read everyone’s own favorite bits. Keep an eye out for more blog posts in Paris and the usual London Fashion Week post coming soon! In the mean time, follow me on social media because I’m trying to talk more on my stories and let you guys get to know me a bit better. Have a lovely week friends!
