Blazers: A Girl's Best Friend

Happy Sunday friends,

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. Are you ready for the week ahead? I’ve had a lovely weekend of catching up with friends and eating good food as usual. Yesterday, I wandered around Shoreditch chatting with my friend, Vincenza, and today I explored Greenwich with my friend, Jade. We took a few more photos for the blog and ate a delish burger.

Anyway, for this week’s post, I wanted to talk about that blazer hiding in the back of your closet that you only bring out for job interviews. I’m challenging you to make that blazer a go-to piece in your wardrobe instead, like I have. I have so many blazers now, I’ve lost count, and it’s because I wear them so much! They’ve been become an integral part of my wardrobe and I think they should be for you too. Below I’ve covered the best qualities of the garment and why you should give them a go if you’re not a fan already. I truly believe there’s a blazer for everyone. When you find the right one you’ll feel 100x more confident, and you’ll be reaching for it in your wardrobe time and time again.

Instant Sophistication

The obvious benefit of a blazer is that they add instant class and sophistication to any outfit. I love throwing a blazer on to make my jeans look more sophisticated. It works in the summer too with your floral sun dresses and floaty skirts. A blazer is literally your quick fix to an immediately smarter ensemble. (If you’re feeling a bit too stuffy in your blazer, you can push up the sleeves like I’ve done here for a more casual approach.)

Layering with Class Not Bulk

This chilly time of year, we’re always trying to add a little warmth to our looks. Adding another layer, like a blazer, is perfect for making you a little bit warmer without adding something bulky like a sweater or pullover. I slip a blazer on over my top and then throw my coat over that. The blazer kind of takes on the role of a cardigan.

Add Some Shape

A tailored blazer is the perfect piece to throw on over a t-shirt or a-line dress to accentuate your waist. They add shape to outfits that otherwise might be quite shapeless.

Get Taken Seriously

There’s no doubt about it, adding a bit if sophistication to your look will get you taken way more seriously. A blazer is a job interview’s best friend. Why not extend this to more moments in life than just your next interview or work presentation.

Thanks so much for reading this week’s blog post. Make sure to get your blazer(s) out of your wardrobe and throw them on to add another layer to your look. Comment down below how you plan to incorporate a blazer into your daily wardrobe. You can shop my whole outfit down below if you’re interested in anything.
