Sweater Weather: Your Knitwear Guide for AW20
Happy Sunday lovelies,
Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend guys. I’ve spent the week enjoying the beginning of fall and going out to eat at some lovely London hot spots. I’ve been enjoying running in the cooler weather and among the changing leaves. Anyone else secretly excited for this change of season (apart from the unfortunate amount of rain we have had this week)?
For this week’s blog post, I wanted to share some of the Autumn/Winter 2020 knitwear that I’ve been lusting after. Despite the fact that I sometimes find knitwear to be a bit bland and samey, there seems to be an influx of exciting sweaters and jumpers out there this fall. Below are the top trends and my cosy picks that I’m loving on the high street and online at the minute.
Creme de la cardigan
Cardigan’s have got to be this year’s top knitwear trend. I definitely recommend fishing out your old cardigan out of the back of your wardrobe and styling it up this season. If you don’t already have one, don’t fret, as there’s one for everyone on the high street right now. Keep an eye out for cute buttons, different textures, and every fit you could wish for.
Crayon Colours
As you very well know about me, colour is important to my wardrobe, but knitwear often falls under the neutral category for most. This season, the high street has injected a bit of colour straight into autumn/winter knitwear in just about every shade imaginable, which you know I’m on board for!
Hot Under the Collar
As I’m sure you’ve probably noticed, oversized and detailed collars are very on-trend this season and the trend doesn’t stop when it comes to sweaters. There are a variety of collared knits available, perfect for adding that feminine touch to your autumnal wardrobe. It also give the effect of layering without feeling too bulky in multiple layers. (Top tip: these mock layers are perfect for people who find themselves getting too hot in traditional autumn outfits.)
Vest of the best
Knitted vests have time travelled from the 80s and made it all the way to 2020. A trip to the vintage store or thrift shop would be an amazing place to find the perfect layering piece for your wardrobe. This versatile piece can be thrown over a dress or shirt for added style and warmth. (Top tip: on the flip side to the collared knitwear, vests are perfect for those of us that are constantly cold.)
Thanks for reading this week’s post. Hope you found some cosy, autumnal pieces above that you might like as well.
