5 Essentials for a More Sophisticated Wardrobe
Happy Sunday friends,
This weekend has been a fun one. Friday night was a chilled movie night with the roommates. One of the things we watched was the documentary, Tell Me Who I Am, which I definitely recommend if you’re into mystery and crime documentaries. Saturday, I got all dolled up for my friend, Sarah’s house warming party. It was so nice to see her new pad and mingle with some new people. Today, we went out and got some pastries and coffees after cleaning up the house, and then we went for a lovely autumn walk through the leaves. It actually feels like autumn now and I’m loving it. It is my favorite season after all. What have you been up to this weekend? Comment down below. Anyway, let’s get on to this week’s blog post.
For this week’s post, I wanted to talk about a few style must-haves for a more sophisticated wardrobe. Below are my five favorite items for an added touch of class.
Wide Leg Trousers
Wide-leg trousers, like the ones I’m wearing here, are an absolute essential for a more chic wardrobe. They are perfect for elongating the leg and making you look miles taller than you actually are. I’m obsessed at the minute. They are everywhere right now, so you shouldn’t have trouble adding some to your own wardrobe.
Tailored Blazer
A blazer that nips in at the waist, instantly makes you look like you’re know what you’re talking about. They can dress up jeans to make a more classy casual look, or you can wear with trouser or a skirt for an even more business ready look. Honestly, you can never go wrong with a blazer. It’s a must have in everyone’s wardrobe.
Waist Belt
Another chic trend I’ve been obsessed with are waist belts. They are perfect for cinching in any dress or blazer and adding an extra bit of interest. Waist belts make any outfit a bit more exciting and intentional.
Longline Coat
I’ve spoken about trench coats in my last post, but longline coats in general will make anyone look more chic and cool. The length makes you look taller and hides a multitude of sins. Long coats can make even a simple white tee and jeans more interesting and refined.
High Knee Boots
The current footwear trend that is adding class to everyone’s outfits, are knee high boots. A style that sits just under the knee is perfect to wear with dresses and skirts this fall/winter.
So what do you think you’ll be adding to your wardrobe for a touch of extra sophistication? Thanks so much for reading this week’s post. Shout out to my lovely pal, Jade, for taking these photos for me. Remember to check back next week for a new blog post and in the mean time, follow me on my social media. Have a great week!
