4 Reasons You Need a Trench Coat
Happy Sunday friends,
Hope you’re having a lovely weekend with your friends and fam. I’ve had a nice, relaxing weekend hiding from the rain and watching movies on Saturday and then today I got lunch with my friend, Jade, and looked around some of the shops. We had pizza which I haven’t had in a couple of weeks, so I was very happy. I also made my double chocolate chip cookies this weekend, as I’ve been very into the baking recently for some reason. What food did you treat yourself to this weekend? Anyway, enough about food, and on to this week’s blog post. (Haha you can tell what I care about!)
This week’s blog post is all about one of my favorite British classics, the trench coat. It’s an iconic piece that everyone has had in their closet at one point or another. Below are my reasons why everyone should pick up a trench of your own asap.
Add Class to Any Look
A trench adds instant sophistication to almost any look. These coats have the ability to make even leggings and trainers look more chic.
Survive the Rainy Season
The perfect piece to have in your wardrobe during this rainy time of year is definitely a trench coat. Trench coats are typically made out of a material that is somewhat water proof and during autumn when it’s raining every other day, it’s the perfect piece to throw on and stay dry in.
Multiple Ways to Wear
The beauty of a trench coat is that it can be styled multiple ways. You can wear it belted, knotted, open, or tied in the back. I think I tend to wear mine open and knotted the most.
They’re Lightweight
Another plus about trenches is that they’re usually quite lightweight. This means that they are perfect for layering and if you are going into somewhere a bit warmer, like on the tube here in London, you’re not going to completely roast. You can layer as many pieces underneath as you like without being weighed down by a big heavy coat. If you’re going into to warmer shops or cafes, it’s not a heavy coat to carry around if you need to.
Do you have a trench coat sitting in your wardrobe, or are you planning to pick one up asap? I promise you won’t regret it. You can shop my trench coat and the rest of my look below if you’re interested. Special thank you to my lovely friend, Jade, for taking these pics! It’s lovely have a friend to take photos with. Anyway, check back next week for a new post and in the mean time remember to follow me on social media.
