Why Fall is My Favorite Season
Happy Sunday friends,
Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday evening as per the usual. This weekend, I got up to a few things and got some much needed rest after a busy week. Friday night, I went to Hawker house to get some tasty street-style bites. We had a pizza called the American psycho which was pretty amazing. Saturday, I did a little running around in the rain, picking up and a few bits for the flat and taking things to the tailor. Then in the evening, I a had a little babysitting job so I went armed with Uno. Today, I’ve been out with my friend, Jade. We went for a very autumnal walk in Victoria Park over crunchy leaves with hot chocolates in hand. Then, we had a bite to eat in my favorite bakery, Gail’s. They do the best pastries ever. I spent the weekend doing some of my favorite autumnal things so I thought I’d share a little bit more about my favorite time of year in this blog post.
Hot Drinks, Soups, and freshly baked goods
A creamy hot chocolate to warm those frosty fingers is something that marks this time of year with a bit of childhood nostalgia. Food and drink just seems to be better this time of year for some reason. It warms the soul. Warm drinks, hearty soups and stews, and freshly baked goods are some of my favorite foods, and they’re made for the fall and winter seasons.
Cozying up by a Fire to watch a film
Watching films is one of my favorite things year round, but add a fire and some cozy blankets and I couldn’t be happier. Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean will definitely be watched soon with a cup of tea in hand.
Walks in Cold Crisp Air
I absolutely love a sunny day when it’s cold. There’s nothing better than throwing on a coat, and the sound of crunching leaves underfoot. The air just feels cleaner to me this time of year. It’s a relief from the mugged, sticky air of summer. Plus, it’s always nice to admire nature’s impressive array of colors during this time.
Upcoming Excitement
Another thing I love about this time of year is the excitement of the holidays looming over everyone. Despite the colder weather and darker evenings, everyone seems to be in higher spirits. There’s something to look forward to and prepare for.
The Clothes
Last but not least, we can’t forget the autumn wardrobe, which is my favorite. I love that it’s cold enough to wear sweaters and boots, but you don’t have to bundle up too much. I think you can get a lot more creative with layering this time of year.
Thanks for reading this week’s post. Comment down below which season is your favorite and why and what you love about fall. This is my first autumn in London, so I’m happy to share that my favorite things about the season are here as well. There will be no blog post next weekend, as I’m spending the weekend with family celebrating the wonderful life of my amazing Great Grandma, who passed away at 100 this month. Catch me on Instagram or Facebook until next time and have a great week! x
