Sweater Weather: Your Knitwear Guide for AW20

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend guys. I’ve spent the week enjoying the beginning of fall and going out to eat at some lovely London hot spots. I’ve been enjoying running in the cooler weather and among the changing leaves. Anyone else secretly excited for this change of season (apart from the unfortunate amount of rain we have had this week)?

For this week’s blog post, I wanted to share some of the Autumn/Winter 2020 knitwear that I’ve been lusting after. Despite the fact that I sometimes find knitwear to be a bit bland and samey, there seems to be an influx of exciting sweaters and jumpers out there this fall. Below are the top trends and my cosy picks that I’m loving on the high street and online at the minute.

Where to Shop for Secondhand Designer Purchases

Hope you’re well and have had a lovely weekend. As always, I want to hear in the comments down below what you’ve been up to. I’ve had a very busy week, so a much needed chilled weekend in return. This week I started my new job and have been prepping for moving house this coming Friday. I forgot how stressful it is to move and work full-time again. This weekend I’ve been enjoying the sunshine, running, packing some boxes, and getting a takeaway.

DIY Bubblegum Mirror

Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend. I’ve had a much-needed relaxing weekend after a busy week of trying to fill my room before moving in a couple weeks time. Who else gets extremely stressed out by an upcoming move? If you have any moving tips definitely send them my way. They’d be very appreciated.
For this week’s blog post, I put my DIY cap on and decided to up-cycle an old door mirror that I had lying around. I was inspired by Tuula Rose, who made a cream expanding foam mirror, and Courtney English, who made a bluey green mirror, on Instagram. Below are the supplies and 5 simples steps to creating your own bubblegum expanding foam mirror. I’ve also added some inspiration down below if you want to see how some other amazing creatives made their expanding foam mirrors.

Successorizing

Hope you’ve all had an amazing week and weekend. I feel as though I’ve had a pretty successful week. I’ve been doing some DIY projects, shooting new content for here and Instagram, eating yummy food and yesterday we visited Richmond Park and saw some deer up close and personal. Comment down below with what you’ve been up to this weekend.

For today’s post, I wanted to talk about a new fashion term, successorizing. It was mentioned on the Netflix series Love on the Spectrum, and I was inspired to interpret and write my own blog post to go along with the term. Basically, the term is referring to “dressing for success,” but in this case it’s accessorizing for success. I’ve mentioned how accessories can completely change an outfit in previous blog posts (see here), and they come in many shapes and forms, whether that’s scarves, jewellery, hair clips, bags, belts, or hats. Because of this, many people can find accessorizing intimidating, but today I wanted to give you some tips on successfully choosing your own accessories, or should I say successorizing.

Books I've Read in 2020

Sorry for the day-late blog post. I had a busy weekend of finally catching up with friends and eating delish food post-lockdown. It feels as though London is returning to a bit of normalcy. We’re required to wear masks in shops and on public transport, but not in restaurants. It felt so normal to hang out with a few friends in a pub chatting away all night (socially distanced from everyone else of course). I also went over to my friend, Jade’s house, for a takeaway and a much-needed face-to-face catch up. What did you guys get up to this weekend? How are you feeling about COVID in your area? Comment down below.

This week I wanted to dedicate a blog post to the books I’ve been reading this year and give you guys a mini review to go along with each one. Recently, I’ve really rekindled my love for reading. I can’t believe I stopped in the first place to be honest. Lockdown was the perfect time to escape into a fictional world and below are the books that helped me do just that.

How to be a More Conscious Fashion Consumer

How have your weekends been? I’ve had a weekend eating amazing food, which almost felt like normal (aka pre-covid). Friday night, I went to one of my favorite pizza and a cocktail spots in London, Homeslice, which was very organized and socially distanced. Saturday morning, I had a delish eggs Benedict and then walked around Shoreditch all day in the sun. It was such nice weather and ended the day with some takeaway sushi, which was much needed since I haven’t had sushi in ages. This morning, I’ve been on my usual run to Victoria Park and seen loads of dogs along the way. I stopped by the Colombia Rd. Flower Market on the way back for a cheeky bunch of hydrangeas. Anyway, that’s my weekend recap, so let’s get on to this week’s post. It’s an important one.

As I’ve just finished my online course in sustainable fashion, I wanted to talk about some little things all of us can do to become more conscious with our fashion consumption. I am obviously a huge lover and investor in fashion, but recently I’ve been trying to become more and more conscious of steps I can take to make my fashion carbon footprint a little bit smaller. Below are some very easy and simple ways you can try to be more environmentally friendly with your fashion consumption too.
