Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 2021

Hope you’re all well and coping with lockdown if you’re in one. Comment down below what you’ve been doing this week to keep busy. We’ve been on a chilly hike, sipping cocktails, and creating more content for Instagram. I’ve been trying to squeeze in what I can before heading back to the Big Smoke as well.

For this week’s post I wanted to recreate a look from Breakfast at Tiffany’s but in a fresh, 2021 way. This outfit is what I imagine Audrey Hepburn’s iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s outfit would look like today. I wanted to use a combination of new, vintage, and thrifted items to recreate this timeless look. The base of the outfit was created with this thrifted velvet dress and thrifted white shirt that I layered underneath. I thought the jeweled collar on the shirt was very reminiscent of Audrey’s necklace in the movie. I’ve traded her big sunglasses for a red cat-eye pair and her pointed heels for a more wearable pair of pointed boots. Instead of an elegant bouffant up-do, I went for a more modern, slick low bun. I also added an on-trend studded waist belt for added detail. To finish off the look I grabbed this fab vintage handbag that my mum found a few years ago. What do you think?
