My Favourite Festive Traditions
Happy Sunday lovelies,
Hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday on the run up to Christmas. Comment down below all the festive things you’re getting up to if you celebrate. I’m officially back home in small-town USA for a couple weeks now. I’m excited to be spending a bit of time with my family doing all the festive activities we can.
For this blog post, I thought I’d talk about some of my favourite traditions and activities to do this time of year, as it is my favourite holiday after all. I always enjoy reading about other things that people love to do in December, so I thought you guys might enjoy reading about my favourite things too.
Decorating the Tree
One of the traditions I always enjoy this time of year, is decorating the Christmas tree. There’s something about opening the box of ornaments year after year, choosing your favourites, and placing them perfectly on the tree. I usually do this with my mum. We usually have a Christmas film or music on in the background too to keep the mood going.
Making Gingerbread Cookies
I try to make gingerbread cookies nearly every year. I know the flavour isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but t’s one of my all time favourite festive flavours. This year I used the dino cookie cutters my mum sent me and made some very tasty dinosaur treats to take into work. I also want to try out a new recipe for white chocolate gingerbread cookie, which sounds amazing.
Ice Skating
Winter is one of my favourite times of the the year; maybe only behind, autumn. I love the cooler weather, the winter fashion, and of course Christmas. Ice skating is one of the activities I always try to do this time of year. I don’t necessarily see it as solely for Christmas time, but I do feel like you have to do it during winter.
Gift Giving
I think my love language, or how I show someone I love them, is by gift giving, so I take a lot of care in choosing and wrapping the right presents. I really enjoy thinking of and then researching something I think a specific person will really like or need. I also love wrapping presents and making the outside look just as interesting as what’s inside, maybe it’s the art major in me.
Watching Christmas Films
Over the years, I’ve accumulated quite the list of films I have to watch at Christmas. Starting December 1st, I make my way through the list from the Holiday to The Grinch, to a Christmas Carol. Comment your favourite Christmas film below. Comment your favourite festive film below.
