Welcome Home Bonnie
Happy Sunday lovelies,
I hope you are all having a fab weekend, out enjoying the sunshine and making the most of another summer weekend. I’m finally back on the blog posting after a little break for a couple months. Nothing bad has happen to cause this break but I just needed to focus on myself and work and adding extra pressure on myself wasn’t really worth it. I’ve also been travelling a lot on the weekends, which has taken up quite a bit of my time. Recently, I’ve been to Madrid, Copenhagen, and even Paris again, have been stamped in my overcrowded passport. Jet setting here, there and everywhere, I do feel incredibly lucky but it’s also quite exhausting as I’m sure you can imagine, especially when it’s for work and I have to be focused and in good form at all times.
But alas you’ve not clicked on this blog post to read about my travels, no something much more exciting has happened to me this week. One of my life-long dreams has finally come true. After 4 years of working towards it, I’ve finally got a puppy of my own. Her name is Bonnie Buttercup and she’s just as perfect as can be. We’re already stuck together at the hip and partners in crime. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for little Bonnie and I. Below are some more of the things I’ve learned after the first week of having a puppy all on my own.
A little Mess Doesn’t Hurt Anyone
While this week has been magical, it’s also been messy. I’m quite a clean and orderly person. I like everything in it’s place, but Bonnie has been a little whirlwind of chaos. I’ve come to terms with the fact this week, that not everything can be controlled and a little mess isn’t so bad. It’s normal!
A Different Kind of Love
I never understood those over protective mums who say they don’t want to leave their newborn to go back to work, but this week I had to leave Bonnie one day to go to the office and I’ve never felt such worry and heartbreak. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I had left her in the most capable hands of my vet nurse roommate, Lara. I felt like I could’ve burst into tears at any moment that day, and I’m not a crier at all. The love I’ve had for my dogs over the years has always been something special and untouchable.
Brains and Beauty
In just a weeks time I’ve already taught Bonnie so much (maybe not as much as she’s taught me though haha). We started working on sit on day one and she’s got that one in the bag. She’s now also learning to come, hand shake and lie down as well. Feeling like a proud mum, to say that not only is she the most beautiful, but she’s very bright too!
Thank you for reading this week’s blog post. I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about Bonnie’s first week in her new forever home. I’m sure there will be plenty more puppy tails to come and I promise to try to keep up with the weekly blog posting again. I definitely need to share my Copenhagen travel guide next, so you can hear about all the fun Joud and I had while there.
