Milan Fashion Week AW22
Ciao friends,
I hope you’re all well and having a relaxing end to your weekend. This weekend, I went for a lovely swimming sesh, unpacked my suitcases, and went for a delish Sunday roast. I’ve needed this restful weekend after all of the craziness of London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks.
Reflecting on the past couple weeks, I wanted to look back on Milan Fashion week first. Apart from Men’s Milan Fashion Week, this was my first real MFW experience. Below are some of my highlights and favourite parts of the week.
Day 1
The first day of MFW, we saw the first show, AC9, which was filled with feathers, sparkles, and black matrix inspired looks. Each look was finished off with wet-look hair and minimal makeup. We also ran to a few fittings and saw presentations by Furla and Max Mara on day 1, with Taylor Lashae, one of our amazing Talents.
Day 2
The second day of MFW turned out to be one of the busiest. Janice Joostema, one of my gorg talents, arrived and we jumped straight in. We started off with a presentation by shoe brand, Santoni. Then we ran off to the first show of the day, Genny. Both Janice and Taylor sported gorgeous outfits and we met up with some of our French girls as well. The show was featuring gorgeously colourful suits, feminine silhouettes and glittery dresses. After the girls changed in the car, in very fashion week style, we went to the next show, Annakiki. Annakiki surprised us with some amazing styles. Statement blazers, tailored trousers, and cool crops were right up my street. Colour wise, there were gorgeous pops of green and pink amidst the mostly monochrome collection. We ended day 2 with a V Management Dinner, and it was lovely to have all our people in one spot.
Day 3
On the third day, we started off with TODS. My Talent, Temi Otedola, was dressed in a head-to-toe green number that looked stunning on her. All the TODS looks were super wearable, from leather blazers, to oversized coats, to knits with cut-outs. We also got to see Gigi and Bella briefly and they looked stunning of course. I also saw the legendary Anna Wintour for the first time in the flesh. Temi then changed and we were off to Etro. After Etro, I ran off to Onitsuka Tiger with Taylor, which was very monochrome with lots of layering and cool puffer jackets. We ended the day with Elisabetta Franchi, which disappointed us a bit, but was comprised of very feminine gowns and styles.
Day 4
Day 4 kicked off with an amazing show, Ermano Scervino. All the styles were immaculate and the colourways were perfect. I loved the turquoise shade the most. The venue was also a stunning, grand building with massive chandeliers and gold details. We finished off the day with the Philosophy show. Again, I was in love with all the styles. There was the perfect combo of long leather gloves, feather details, cool jackets, and glittery gowns. It was the ultimate cool girl wardrobe.
So that was my little round up of the highlights of Milan Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2022. A special thank you goes to the people who made my MFW great including Janice, Temi, Taylor, Camille, Sal, and everyone else.
