How to Build a Strong Jewellery Collection

Happy Sunday friends,

Hope you’re all having a lovely end to your weekends. I’ve had another fun London weekend. Friday night was Girl’s Night Out which I haven’t had since before the pandemic so that was quite fun, and then yesterday was spent enjoying the last of the summer sun by having a picnic in the park and eating and drinking in Soho. I’ve also spent the weekend preparing for Paris Fashion Week, which starts next weekend.

After a recent question from one of my followers and these new beautiful Astrid and Miyu pieces, I thought I’d share my thoughts on building the perfect jewellery collection. Below are my tips for finding the best jewellery pieces that you’re bound to wear for years and years. Leave a comment below with the best jewellery pieces you’ve ever had in your collection.

Heirloom Pieces

Pieces with a family background or meaning are always going to remain special in your collection. While they might go in and out of style, they are often more unique, and knowing the story behind them makes them so much more valuable. I recommend asking your mum or grandma for any pieces they’re no longer wearing and adding them to your own neck/ear/arm candy collection.

Local Treasures

Shopping local for your accessories is a great way to find more unique pieces. When shopping somewhere like Zara for jewellery, you’re bound to find that everyone else will have the same ones.

Quality over Quantity

When searching for the perfect pieces that are going to last and really add value to your wardrobe, definitely focus on quality materials. Over the years, I’ve learned that spending a bit more in the jewellery department is definitely worth it.

Variety of Styles

In order to have a timeless and strong collection, it’s important that you have a variety of pieces. For example, make sure you have some rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, instead of focusing on just one thing. At one point, I had so many necklaces that I’d never have enough time or neck space to wear them all, but I had only one pair of earrings I actually wore.

Thank you for reading this week’s blog post. I hope this helped you with building your own lasting jewellery collection. Which piece in your current collection do you wear the most? Keep an eye out next weekend for a new blog post, and follow me on Instagram and Facebook in the mean time for daily updates. I’ll be heading to Paris next weekend for PFW, so I can’t wait to share my first PFW experience with you. Anyway, I hope you all have a productive and positive week.
