Happy Sunday lovelies,

I hope you’re all having a lovely end to the weekend. I’ve had quite an exciting one, as my parents have officially moved back to the UK and made a quick stop in London to visit me. Even though they were only here briefly, we still managed to have a good time. I took them to one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Covent Garden, for a walk around my local park, and just had some general catch up time. Hopefully, when they’re a bit more settled I can go and visit them up in Derbyshire soon. But anyway let’s do a bit of time travelling back a couple weeks for this week’s blog post.

This week, I wanted to give you guys a recap of my first Paris Fashion Week experience. As you know, I’m a Talent Manager now, so I was lucky enough to get to go to Paris Fashion Week with my job. I can’t quite believe it. (I was accompanying my Talent, Charelle Schriek, who you need to follow if you’re not already.) One of the reasons I moved to London for my career, was to become more involved in fashion weeks and now I’ve gotten to experience both London and Paris. Feeling very grateful for everything and everyone that has lead me here. Below are some of the highlights of my ten days in Paris.

Catwalk Shows

Obviously, the main highlight of PFW was going to traditional catwalk shows. Though they typically only last about ten minutes max, there’s nothing quite like the rush of innovative and exciting new designs walking past you to catchy music surrounded by others from the fashion-loving community. With work, I got to see Victoria/Thomas, Ester Manas, and Balmain. I think my favourite was Balmain, not only because it’s a brand that I’ve followed for a while now, but also because every single look was phenomenal and so different. We even got to see Naomi Campbell and other amazing supermodels walk in the show. This season, they also made their show into a festival, so Doja Cat performed after the catwalk, which was a fun way to end the show.

Running Along the Siene

My not-so-fashion-related outdoor activity of the week was of course running as per the usual, but for this week, I had a very different backdrop from my usual Victoria Park. Running along the Siene was so peaceful and going past the Eiffel Tower was quite magical and surreal. I was feeling very “Emily in Paris” at this point.

Parisienne Cuisine

In true French form, many a delish meal was consumed over the week. I think I had every pastry there is. I tried sweet ones and savory ones, chocolate ones, cheese ones, cinnamon ones, and Nutella filled ones. Aside from pastries, I had delicious oysters, fresh fish, crunchy baguettes, and an amazing duck confit, which I think might have been my favourite meal of the trip. What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten in Paris?

Party Party Party

Part of the fun and a big reason why I’m still exhausted days later, is the amazing Paris afterparty scene. Nearly every night lead to an amazing party with amazing people. My favourite night, we went to a Dior Cocktail party where I met nearly everyone in the fashion world that I’ve looked up to for the past six years including Victoria of In The Frow. Being constantly surrounded by great music and good people was the recipe for unforgettable nights, so I can’t really complain about the lack of sleep.

Thank you for reading this week’s blog post. I hope you enjoyed learning more about Paris Fashion Week. Feeling very lucky to have opportunities like this with my job.
