(Post-Lockdown) Summer Must-Haves
Happy Sunday friends,
Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend and have been lucky enough to get some good weather. It’s gloriously sunny here in London. This weekend has been a busy-ish one compared to the lockdown weekends. Yesterday, I ran in Victoria Park and saw lots of cute dogs, made a millionaires shortbread (which is delish), and treated myself to a takeaway pizza from one of my favorite places in London. Today, I got up and walked to the park to do a little workout video and then my roommate and I grabbed a coffee and headed to Colombia Road Flower Market, as it reopened today. I had a couple of plant casualties over lockdown, so it was nice to pick up a few bits to fill my empty pots. My room is finely starting to feel more green and lively again.
Now that we’re all putting our sweatpants back in our drawers, and allowed to go out a little bit more, I wanted to focus of some of the top trends for this summer. Below are my summer must-haves for when you’re venturing out into the post-covid world.
Chunky Sandals
Chunky dad-style sandals are definitely the must-have shoes of summer 2020 here in London. The chunky trainer trend’s summer cousin has arrived. Pair them with a feminine dress for the ultimate juxtaposition. They are the perfect combination of comfortable and stylish.
Just Peachy
Peach and orange hues are very on-trend shades for this season, and it goes great with a bit of a tan. If you’re not used to the colour, try an orange headscarf, a peach bag, or some fun socks like these I was gifted from Burlington. I recently styled some orange trousers on the blog as well in this post.
Cute Co-Ord
As mentioned in my previous post, co-ords are a definite must for your summer wardrobe. They are perfect for those barbecues, outdoor brunches, and any other social distance gatherings you’re bound to have in the coming months. The one I’m wearing is from Hollister last year.
Tie dye for
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, tie dye is a big trend this season. Whether you find the perfect piece online or have a go at tie dying something yourself, I definitely recommend adding it to your summer wardrobe.
cAtch of the Day
A fisherman’s hat or bucket hat is the go-to accessory this summer. Whether it’s gingham, floral, neon, or tie dye, find yourself the perfect headgear to shade your face from those harmful rays while still looking oh-so-stylish. I’m in the market for a new one, and I’m obsessed with ones I’ve linked below.
Thank you so much for reading this week’s blog post. What summer trends have you been trying and where have you ventured to post-corona?
