My New Summer Uniform
Hi fashionista friends,
How are you doing on this sunny Sunday? I’ve been back in Maryville, Tennessee for the past couple weeks, spending time with my rents and doggies. It’s been so different from being in London, but so nice to catch up on lost time and revisit old places and faces. It’s been such a nice little summer break. Have you been up to anything interesting this week? Comment down below if you have.
I’ve talked about style uniforms many a time on this blog, and how having a “uniform” for yourself can make getting dressed in the morning a whole lot easier. There’s a chance you might already have one without even knowing it. I recommend just evaluating your wardrobe and finding what you wear the most if you want to create a uniform for yourself too.
For this summer, I’ve created my new summer staple outfit, and it’s one of the outfit combinations I tend to fall back on time and time again, no matter the season. The break down is below.
Floral Dress
I’ve always been a fan of the floral dress, at least as far as I can remember. With my hair I prefer a darker floral because it provides more contrast. I’ve also become a huge fan of long sleeve dresses because I can wear them more months in London and they’re good for keeping cool outside, but also staying a little warmer in air-conditioned places.
Ankle Boots
I’ve been obsessed with my ankle boots, especially my white ones recently. I’ve been wearing them to death really. I just think they are the perfect height to wear with a shorter dress.
Statement Accessory
To add a little more to my outfit, I’ve been trying to incorporate an extra accessory. For this outfit, I threw on my wide waist belt from & Other Stories. I’ve also been adding things like headbands, a chic pair of sunglasses, or some extra jewelry.
Mini bag
Mini bags have been a staple in my wardrobe for a while now, and they’re still holding their own amongst the ever changing trends of the fashion industry.
Have you created yourself a summer uniform yet? If you’re interested, you can shop my outfit below, as per the usual. Special thank you to mum for taking these photos for me. She’s a keeper. I can’t wait until she comes to visit me in London in a few weeks! If you’re on Instagram or Facebook, be sure to check me out on there. Thank you for reading this week’s post and tune in next week for another!
