Then & Now: Restyled BCBG Blazer

Hello beautiful people,

Hope you’re all having a lovely December so far. Have you bought all you Christmas prezzies, eaten all the festive treats, and watched all the x-mas films? I’ve been doing pretty well and finished my wrapping yesterday. I’ve watched pretty much all of my favorite x-mas films as well. What Christmas/holiday film is your favorite? Mine would have to be The Holiday or Love Actually. (If you’ve never seen them, sit down right now and get on it! So good!) Can’t wait to finish work tomorrow and go and visit all the fam. Anyway, I’ll stop rambling about Christmas, and get on with this week’s blog post. Can you tell how excited I am?
A few years ago, I wrote a blog post about styling a statement piece in your wardrobe. The star of the show was this gorgeous BCBG blazer. Three years down the line, I wanted to restyle this gorgeous piece and talk about how I’ve mixed it up for a modern look. There’s nothing more on trend than reusing pieces from your wardrobe right now, is there? Clothes that last the test of time are becoming more and more popular due to sustainability and I’m trying to do better myself. Anyway, on to the post. (Check out the old photo below or click here.)

Skinnies for Flares

I’ve traded my black skinnies for a flared pair of cream trousers. The flared and straight-leg styles are very in right now and I thought the white complimented the black on the jacket quite nicely. I’ve been obsessed with trousers recently, and this particular pair is from Zara. They’re very elongating, which means you’ll look miles taller than you actually are! (Always a good thing in my book!)

Heeled Boots for Converse

I’ve traded my heeled boots for a little more London-friendly option, for this outfit. Heeled boots are a gorgeous option when you’re in the US and driving everywhere, but here in London, walking is my main type of transport, which means you have to rock something comfy like these kicks. I picked up these high-top Converse over the summer and they’ve become a go-to for work and play.

Kept the Cat-Eye Sunglasses

I kept the cat-eye sunglasses, but just a little update from the blush pink to these shiny yellow ones. The cat-eye trend is still very much on trend at the minute. Be sure to pick yourself up a pair or maybe ask for a pair for Christmas! This pair is from & Other Stories.

Added a Killer Bag

Somehow, in my first outfit with this jacket, I completely forgot a bag! I had to add one this time of course! I chose my little Louis because I thought it would nicely pull the blacks and browns together with the ones in the jacket.
Comment down below what pieces have lasted the test of time in your wardrobe. Is there anything, like my blazer, that has held a prize position in your wardrobe? Anyway, shout out to my lovely pal, Jade, for taking these cool photos of me. Have a lovely rest of your week! Join me next week for another post.
