London Fashion Week AW19 Recap
Happy Sunday friends,
I’m back!! I hope you’re all having a lovely and relaxing weekend. I’m certainly catching up on my relaxing this weekend, thank goodness! I’m sorry I missed last week’s post, but as I think you’ll learn from this post, last week and weekend were absolutely no-stop. I’m actually exhausted! I did enjoy every crazy minute of London Fashion Week AW19 though! There’s nothing quite like the creative and quirky environment of a fashion week to get the inspiration flowing and the adrenaline pumping. Here is a cheeky recap of the craziness that was my fashion-filled weekend! If you have any questions about it all, be sure to leave it below!
Day 1: Saturday, Feb 16th
My lovely friend, Vincenza, and I kicked off LFW by going to some shows in the morning with an intermission brunch of course haha. We saw shows and presentations by Mimpkita, Cassay Gan, and Boutique de Nana. It was so nice getting to see some new and up-and-coming designers’ work with one of my fashion-loving pals. In the evening, I helped HPR, the pr company I work for, with a presentation at Fashion Scout. We dressed models, took photos, and handed out press releases for Zeynep Kartal, a brand I helped out with in September too. (Check out this blog post from last fashion week to see Zeynep’s last show.) I love getting to experience the backstage or behind the scenes environment as well. It’s so exciting and fast-paced.
Day 2: Sunday, Feb 17th
Sunday morning I managed to squeeze in a yummy brunch with my cousin Joseph and his lovely girlfriend, Imogen, at the Ivy Market! (I def recommend if you’re looking for a place to brunch in Covent Garden.) Afterwards, I headed to help out with another HPR show by new designer, Kalissi! Her line was very colorful and bright which I was excited about, obviously. Her designs have a very nostalgic, vintage feel, but she uses such vibrant shades. After that show, my friends and I attended another two shows by designers, René Garza and Jerri Moore & Clarence Lee. We finished off the night with a much needed curry at Masala Zone in Covent Garden! Delish! If you can’t tell, Fashion Week is just as much about the food as the fashion haha. Above are some of the photos from the Kalissi catwalk show and backstage.
Day 3: Tuesday Feb 19th
My London Fashion Week continued into the week to Tuesday when I helped out with HPR’s last show of this season. Milo Maria had a presentation at the British Fashion Counsel’s space on the Strand. (While we were prepping for the presentation, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, showed up as well! I ended up being about ten feet from her!!) The presentation was so gorgeous and full of pinks, reds, and greens, that I was absolutely dying over (Photos above)! I also loved the structured coats and draped velvets in the collection. I would have worn just about everything! We finished off fashion week with some cocktails, appetizers and fashion chats with colleagues, which was so lovely.
Thank you so much for reading this week’s post! I hope you enjoyed learning about my second London Fashion Week experience. It exhausting but inspiring all at once, so it’s almost impossible to describe the whole thing. Comment down below which designs were your favorite in the post or if you have any questions because I’d honestly just love to talk about fashion week all day long. Remember to check out my Instagram for more daily stories and photos and check back next week for a new post!
