Neon Dreams
Happy Sunday friends,
Hope you’ve all had another lovely week. I had a busy one I must admit! It’s been a whirlwind. Tuesday I had a lovely Indian with my uncle since he was down working in London. Thursday we had an amazing photoshoot with a Love Island star at Ghost House, which is an insane modern art piece in itself. Friday afternoon I moved house! Special thank you goes to my brother for all his help during the move. Yesterday, we all took the train down to Cornwall for a much-needed relaxing sea-side holiday. (Missing mum and dad though, who can’t make it thanks to COVID.) What have you been up to this week? Doing anything exciting this bank holiday weekend? Comment down below.
For today’s blog post, I wanted to talk about something that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, and that’s neon! I know neon may not seem like the most wearable category of colours, but there are a few tips for making it a lot more attainable in your own style. You’ll be rocking all the brights before you know it!
Right Shade for You
Similarly when you normally choose colours for yourself to wear, choose a colour you know compliments your hair and skin tone. I chose neon green because I tend to like myself in greens anyway.
Keep it classy
Neon can often look tacky or cheap so I recommend choosing a neon piece that’s in thicker better quality fabric, like this denim, and pair with more quality pieces to give off a classy vibe. Avoid cheap silky fabrics and other thin materials in neon.
Stay Simple
As I mentioned in my How To Style Brights blog post, loud colours often look better when they’re solid and not in a loud pattern as well. I recommend colour blocking with neon like I did with this outfit. The clean crisp colours can do all the talking.
Thank you so much for reading this week’s post. Comment down below if you’re going to give a neon shade a go. Remember to follow me on Instagram in the mean time to see what I get up to while here in Cornwall. I’ve already taken so many good shots of the lovely southern scenery. Hopefully, I’ll have more good weather and more good photos to share with you all. Have a lovely week guys!
