Summer #OOTD
Happy Monday friends!
How are you all doing on this muggy summer Monday? I hope you've made it through the work day all right and are now getting a bit of time to relax! Today I have a little bonus post for you! Yes, I posted yesterday and yes, there will be another post on Sunday, but I thought a cheeky extra post might be a nice treat just to brighten up your Monday!
Today I just wanted to talk you through a quick #OOTD, otherwise known as an 'outfit of the day'! This is basically the way my brain works as I put together an outfit each day!
Top
I started with this gorgeous, ruched top by Urban Outfitters as my hero piece! (Read what a hero piece is here.) I love the ruched tie-up detailing at the front of this top and it's very on-trend at the moment. The color is also a color I always enjoy wearing and think really suits me. I basically built the rest of the outfit around it!
Jeans
From there, I went looking in my closet for the perfect summer bottoms to pair with this top and came across my old white mom jeans! I mean, you really can't go wrong with a pair of white jeans in summer, can you?
Shoes
I then slipped on my Restricted Shoes slides for the perfect contrasting neutral to the white jeans. I love the frayed edging of these shoes. It's such a lovely detail that makes a casual slip on shoe just that much more interesting! Bag
Next, I grabbed my basket bag and tied on a black bandana to compliment the black shoes. I felt like adding another neutral would really make the outfit seem effortless and chic. By this point, I was well on my way to completing the look!
Headband
I finished off my summer #OOTD by throwing on this colorful headband! I thought it provided a nice pattern clash with the top, while still tying in the black from the shoes and the bandana. The print of each pattern are different enough that they work great together!
