For this week’s blog post, I wanted to talk about an amazing bargain that I landed in the January sales here in London. I was utterly thrilled when I stumbled upon these killer boots in Topshop on Oxford Street. If you’ve been to London, you’ll know that this is the mother of all Topshops, with its own cafe, salon, and tattoo parlor. (I may or may not frequent it often to check out new collections and get a bit of inspiration.) Anyway, I’ve been on the hunt for some knee-high western boots and as I was browsing the rows and rows of shoes, these came into view. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the price tag that said “Originally: £139, Now: £39.” I’ve actually been on the hunt for boots like this for a few months now, and hadn’t had any luck. I never thought I’d find them for such a discounted price and in my size! It really was meant to be.
Read MoreHope you’re all having a lovely weekend. Are you ready for the week ahead? I’ve had a lovely weekend of catching up with friends and eating good food as usual. Yesterday, I wandered around Shoreditch chatting with my friend, Vincenza, and today I explored Greenwich with my friend, Jade. We took a few more photos for the blog and ate a delish burger.
Anyway, for this week’s post, I wanted to talk about that blazer hiding in the back of your closet that you only bring out for job interviews. I’m challenging you to make that blazer a go-to piece in your wardrobe instead, like I have. I have so many blazers now, I’ve lost count, and it’s because I wear them so much! They’ve been come an integral part of my wardrobe and I think they should be for you too. Below I’ve covered the best qualities of the garment and why you should give them a go if you’re not a fan already. I truly there’s a blazer for everyone. When you find the right one you’ll feel 100x more confident, and you’ll be reaching for it in your wardrobe time and time again.
Read MoreHope you’ve all had a productive week. I’ve had a lovely week exploring London. My friend, Sarah and I went to Notting Hill on Wednesday, and this weekend my brother’s girlfriend, Felicia, visited me, so got up to loads of fun things! We visited Tate Modern, went to see Wicked on the West End, and ate lots of delish food. What more can a girl ask for? This weekend was the perfect cure for those January blues. Anyway, for this week’s blog post, I wanted to talk about how I’ve been escaping these so-called January blues, as I always find it to be a trying month filled with lots of pressures and expectations. Despite getting some bad news this month, I’ve still managed to stay positive and below are some of the things that have helped me, including weekend’s like this one. You might benefit from adding these little habits to your routine too.
Read MoreHope you’re all having a lovely weekend. Comment down below what you’ve been up to. I had a chilled evening on Friday making cookies and watching films with my roommates and then yesterday went out to celebrate one of my friend’s birthday. For this week’s blog post, as promised, I’m recapping what Savannah and I got up to while in Amsterdam and what I recommend you do too if you go yourself. Overall, it was such an amazing city and one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. I’m definitely going to be going back, hopefully in the spring or summer next time. Below are my must-see spots, meals to-die-for, and things we did while in the gorgeous city of Amsterdam.
Read MoreSo sorry I’ve been m.i.a. recently! I wanted to spend a couple weeks really enjoying being with the people I loved over the holidays. My parents came over from the US and we all spent a lovely Christmas with our family in Derbyshire. Then, I came back to London to spend New Years with my lovely long-time pal, Savannah. The day after, we jetted off to Amsterdam for a couple days, which was an amazing trip (mini guide to Amsterdam coming soon!). Needless to say, it has been an extremely busy couple of weeks, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Anyway, it’s time to get back on track with this year’s first blog post.
First, I wanted to look back at some of the resolutions I made last year and if I managed to achieve them. I always find January to be a very hard time of year. I’m missing my family that I just spent time with, the excitement of the holidays have passed, and there seems to be nothing to look forward to. Looking over my past goals and creating new ones has always been a therapeutic thing for me to do this time of year. Below are the new resolutions I’ve set for myself this year along with my thoughts on last year’s.
Read MoreHope you’re all having a lovely December so far. Have you bought all you Christmas prezzies, eaten all the festive treats, and watched all the x-mad films? I’ve been doing pretty well and finished my wrapping yesterday and I’ve watched pretty much all of my favorite x-mas films. What Christmas film is your favorite? Mine would have to be The Holiday or Love Actually. (If you’ve never seen them, sit down right now and get on it! So good!) Can’t wait to finish work on tomorrow and go and visit all the fam. Anyway, on to this week’s blog post.
A few years ago I wrote a blog post about styling a statement piece in your wardrobe. The star of the show was this gorgeous BCBG blazer. Three years down the line, I wanted to restyle this gorgeous piece and talk about how I’ve mixed it up for a modern look.
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Have you been up to anything exciting this weekend. This weekend I went to Oxford Circus to see the Christmas lights (I know it’s a bit early, but it’s hard to avoid here in London!), had a delish Thai meal, and now I’m off to see Frozen 2. (What more could a gal ask for haha?) Comment down below if you’ve gotten up to anything fun or if you’re getting ready for Thanksgiving Festivities in the US.
For this week’s post, I wanted to talk about some of the current trends I’ve been seeing pop up everywhere, as well as the items I’ve been lusting after as a result of these trend. Below are my favorite trends and a piece I have my eye on that fits within each trend.
Read MoreHope you’re having a lovely Sunday evening as per the usual. This weekend, I got up to a few things and got some much needed rest after a busy week. Friday night, I went to Hawker house to get some tasty street-style bites. We had a pizza called the American psycho which was pretty amazing. Saturday, I did a little running around in the rain, picking up and few bits for the flat and taking things to the tailor. Then in the evening, I a had a little babysitting job so I went armed with Uno. Today, I’ve been out with my friend, Jade. We went for a very autumnal walk in Victoria Park over crunchy leaves with a hot chocolates in hand. Then, we had a bite to eat in my favorite bakery, Gail’s. They do the best pastries ever. I spent the weekend doing some of my favorite autumnal things so I thought I’d share little bit more about my favorite time of year in this blog post.
Read MoreThis weekend has been a fun one. Friday night was chilled movie night with the roommates. One of the things we watched was the documentary, Tell Me Who I Am, which I definitely recommend. Saturday, I got all dolled up for my friend, Sarah’s house warming party. It was so nice to see her new pad and mingle with some different people. Today, we went out and got some pastries and coffees after cleaning up the house, and then we went for a lovely autumn walk through the leaves. It actually feels like autumn now and I’m loving it. It is my favorite season after all. What have you been up to this weekend? Comment down below. Anyway, let’s get on to this week’s blog post.
For this week’s post, I wanted to talk about a few style must-haves for a more sophisticated wardrobe.
Read MoreHope you’re having a lovely weekend with your friends and fam. I’ve had a nice, relaxing weekend hiding from the rain and watching movies on Saturday and then today I got lunch with my friend, Jade, and looked around some of the shops. We had pizza which I haven’t had in a couple weeks so I was very happy. I also made my double chocolate chip cookies this weekend, as I’ve been very into the baking recently for some reason. What food did you treat yourself to this weekend? Anyway, enough about food, and on to this week’s blog post. (Haha you can tell what I care about!)
