How to Stay Cozy and Stylish
There has been many times when we've all considered sacrificing fashion for warmth. Like that time you thought the long sleeve crop top would be warm enough, but you were so very wrong, and you ended up yearning for your sweats and a Northface. But luckily, I'm here to prevent this, so I have some tips and outfit ideas that will keep you both cozy and chic. If you are anything like me, then this time of year you are ALWAYS cold. So throughout the season, I have discovered some tricks that help me keep warm and trendy.
Tips for keeping cozy:
- Wear nude tights under your jeans or pants. This winter, chelsea boots and ankle length pants are very much on trend, but this means your ankles are exposed to the frigid winter air. So just pop on your invisible nude pantyhose and you're on your way to sneaky coziness.
- Wear socks (if the shoes allow) and gloves. I find that if my hands and feet are warm, then the rest of my body will be too.
- Wear an undershirt. Having that extra layer can make a huge difference when facing cooler weather.
I also created a few outfits with layers that have kept my feeling cozy and confident.
I chose this cozy, military look because it keeps me warm, while still looking edgy. I got this sweater for a steal at Old Navy, and it's perfect because it's thick and snuggly. I added the utility vest for another layer of warmth, and skipped the coat. It also adds some visual interest to the outfit. I left my hair tucked in for a chic, temporary bob and this also kept my neck warmer.
This outfit is all about layers. I have on a comfy, striped long-sleeve top over my sneaky undershirt. This piece was mainly to add some pattern to the look. I then added a loose snuggly sweater on top for added warmth and texture. I tucked them in to make the look a little more interesting. Of course, I then topped off the outfit with a snuggly grey scarf to keep my neck toastie.
The final cozy outfit is the most glamorous of the three. I wanted to create three very different options for this post so I went with a military-edgy look, a sporty-comfy look, and this preppy-glam look. I bought this vest entirely because of how fluffy it was and I'm so glad I did. Since the vest is so warm, I just added a plain white, button-up to keep the look clean and simple.
